We are excited to welcome our students back for the start of the 2026-2027 school year! The first day of school is Tuesday, September 1.
School Supply Lists
School Hours
7:45 a.m. - 2:50 p.m.
4K AM: 7:45 a.m. - 10:35 a.m.
4K PM: 12:00 p.m. - 2:50 p.m.
Doors open/supervision begins at 7:30 a.m.
Beginning in the Fall of 2026, the district will strategically focus the morning supervised student arrival window to exactly 15 minutes prior to the start bell, regardless of weather. By compressing the arrival window, we maximize our human resources. Staff will be fully present, strategically assigned, and dynamically available during the highest-density influx of students, providing a higher net level of building security and structural support.
Drop Off & Pick Up Procedures
Please follow these traffic patterns for an efficient drop off and pick up experience at Winnequah School.
4K Staggered Start Information
4K will have a staggered start the first two days of school. Half start on September 1 and the other half on September 2. All 4K students attend September 3.
4K families should refer to their email telling them which date is their student's start date.
Monona Parks & Rec will offer full day coverage to their families for the alternate day along with the regular wrap care on their scheduled day.
Wrap Care
We have partnered with Monona Parks and Recreation to provide wrap care for 4K students attending Winnequah School. Students will be transported to and from Winnequah School; wrap care will be at Maywood School.
Wrap care will run from
-
7:30am to 12:00pm for PM 4K students (AM wrap care)
OR
-
10:35am to 3:00pm for AM 4K students (PM wrap care)

Additional programming from 3:00 to 5:30pm is also available, as 4K afterschool, for an additional fee

School Photo Days
This year, all MGSD students are invited to attend our districtwide photo days on either August 10 at MG21 or August 20 at Granite Ridge School.
Siblings are welcome to attend the same time slot, making this a smoother experience for all. Each location will serve any MGSD student, regardless of their home school.
While we strongly encourage attendance in August, make-up days will be available after school starts for those who cannot make the earlier dates.
